When the input (voltage) of the AVR varies, it is regulated with the use of a variable transformer and a motor. A feedback (servo) from the output of the AVR is given to the control circuit. The control circuit constantly monitors the output (voltage) of the AVR. This ensures that the output voltage is within the specified range.
